Hospitality Management-Hotel & Restaurant (2 Year Diploma)

  • Within the Hotel & Restaurant Management program, Humber works closely with leaders in the hospitality industry to deliver a stellar curriculum with hands-on training and unique highly relevant courses.
  • The program links students with employers, providing an opportunity to develop leadership skills, practical knowledge and career connections.
  • Courses emphasize practical and management skills through a combination of theoretical classes, experiential learning, and practical labs led by professors with extensive industry experience. 
  • Courses include: Financial Management, Hospitality Sales and Marketing, Human Resource Management, Customer Service and Hospitality Law.
  • The fourth semester offers unique courses with an applied focus including; Build Your Own Business Management Simulation, Wine and Food Pairing, Purchasing and Cost Control, Hospitality Law & Risk Management.

*Note:  January start students will be on a fast-track program.  Upon completion of the first semester in April, students will immediately enter the second semester, which operates from May to July.  In September students will begin the third semester allowing the program to be completed in 16 months.

2 Year Hotel & Restaurant (Hospitality) Management Diploma

Internship

Valuable work experience is incorporated through the mandatory internship in hotel or restaurant operations. 

The work placement takes place in the fourth semester and is 24 hours per week for 14 weeks.

Qualified graduates are prepared to seek positions such as: front office supervisor, housekeeping supervisor, supervisor or assistant manager in food and beverage operations, co-ordinator in human resources,  marketing and sales.
